📊 Data accuracy & sources
Current conditions (temperature, wind, humidity and pressure) come from AccuWeather. Rainfall is drawn from Open-Meteo, which provides gridded numerical weather model data that represents each island as an area rather than a single fixed point, and is independently cross-checked against ERA5 reanalysis to confirm it tracks established meteorological records. Because Eastern Caribbean rainfall is largely convective and highly localised, two parts of the same island can record very different totals over the same days or weeks, so an area-based figure is often a more representative measure of an island as a whole. For that reason our rainfall may differ from an individual Met Office rain gauge, which records only its own precise location.
Temperature, wind and humidity are period averages; rainfall is the period total. Longer ranges (3 and 10 years) fill in as more data is collected.
