Latest from Antigua Met Office

Last updated: 2026-02-04 12:20 AST

This morning, a frontal trough continued to linger over the islands bringing brief passing showers over the bvi, while dry conditions prevailed over the leeward islands. Radar imagery showed a few echoes north of the leewards and over the bvi which was associated with the frontal boundary. Satellite showed mainly layer type clouds moving over the northern islands. Model guidance shows that the front will continue to linger over the area and produce showers over the bvi and anguilla for period.

Additionally, some of the northern leeward islands could get clipped by some showers as the front moves away from the area tomorrow morning. For today, shower activity remains low for the leewards. However these showers would be light and sparse.

Meanwhile, sea conditions will remain hazardous for the period as long period swells continue to affect coastlines. This is in agreement with the latest issued forecast and no amendments are required at this time.
