Latest from Antigua Met Office

2025-08-13 23:09 AST

Relatively stable and hazy conditions prevailed across the islands this evening. Radar and satellite imagery showed a line of spotty echoes and patches of low level clouds just north of antigua mainly over the open waters. A plume saharan dust is present over the area contributing to hazy and dry conditions. Model guidance suggests that dry conditions will persist for the forecast period as a ridge dominates over the islands. The plume of saharn dust is forecast to move west of the area by tomorrow.

Meanwhile seas remain at safe levels. This is in general agreement with the latest issued forecast, and no amendments are required at this time.

About “de wedda” website

de wedda is Caribbean shorthand for “the weather.” That’s the idea behind dewedda.com—a quick, no‑nonsense snapshot of what matters to us in the eastern Caribbean.

I’ve lived in the Caribbean for most of my life, and when it comes to the weather, I’ve often wanted quick answers to three questions:

This site pulls official data and presents it simply: active storms relevant to our region, positions and distances/directions to each island (based on the capital), plus quick island weather. It’s built to be fast on mobile and updated 8 times daily (02:00, 05:00, 08:00, 11:00, 14:00, 17:00, 20:00, and 23:00 AST).

Note: This website does not replace the National Hurricane Center or your local meteorological services. Always follow official guidance and advisories from the NHC and your island’s Met Office.
